Help Question about downloading in Google Music

Newbie
I downloaded my first song in Google Music on my Note tonight and Google Music did pick up my Music on my external SD card and copy it to their cloud. I got the song put into the right Playlist on Google. However, Google does not put the song onto my external SD card so I can file it into the Playlist there. Do they only put the music I buy In the cloud and not on my phone too? If that is the case, I have no desire to buy music from them if there is not a way to get the music onto my SD card where all my music is located. Can someone help with this?

If you're only speaking about music that you've bought from them you can have it physically on the phone if you "pin" it or make it available offline. It won't be accessable by other apps (well maybe DoubleTwist) but it's not in a simple easy to find and use place. If you get Offline Music Importer or Cloud Music Importer off of the Play Store you can import it into something more normal. You can also download it onto your computer from the browser and it'll be normal and then you can move it to your phone through the cable or over wifi or something. It's kind of an annoying process in some ways but I don't mind doing it personally.

So you are saying I should click on the Make available offline option when downloading from Google? If so, where does the file go on my phone? Can I then move it to my external SD card where all my music is? Does Samsung make anything easy? I am not a techie and everything I need to do seems so frustrating!!!

It's not Samsung, it's a google program. If you insist on it being on your external SD card I'd just download it from the browser then put it on your card however you see fit. I used Doubletwist for awhile since it has wireless synching.

if you'd rather do it all on the phone then you'd have to buy Offline Music Importer. Otherwise just use Google Music and let it do it's own thing.
