I am a complete newbie when it comes to the google play store so I was hoping someone could give me some advice. About a week ago I released my first android application to the store and since then its gotten practically no downloads. I still can't find it by searching for the name and it never appeared in the new and updated section (I thought this was where all new games appear but apparently not). I

There are many thing you can try including:
* Press release
* Tell friends and family to tweet / share the news of your game
* Paid downloads
* Paid reviews (you wont get a free one anywhere)
* Join Facebook groups and other social media channels and mention your game
* Start a YouTube channel
None of this will make you app a hit but it will help it get noticed a little more.
There's isn't really much on these forums for Android developers trying to find out how to market their products, In fact I did post a link to my own promotion service but the posts were deleted. I did however find a forum that is designed for Android app developers sharing marketing ideas at Marketing Methods (this is not my service or my forums, but I have found it enlightening)
