Help Question about how favorites appear in Speed Dial

Just got the Moto G EXT (XT1064) yesterday, and am trying to adjust to it.

I have just five people marked as favorites, but each one appears in Speed Dial as a huge box with their name and the first letter of their name in it. If I add even one more, I will have to scroll down to see all my favorites. Is there a way to change this to a list, rather than boxes? Or to make the boxes smaller?

You could download 'Favourite Contacts Widget' from play store, what will give you a 4x4 grid on one page for your favourite contacts. As long as you don't need more than 8 in the list it works fine and your contacts are set as favourites by highlighting the star on their listing..
