Question about its 5" display size

Its actual measurement is only 4.25" and not 5". The HTC One only has 4" display and not 4.7". Why would they claim otherwise?

Diagonal? (edited from "they include the softkey area in the measurement" ).

yea screens are measures from one corner to the other, anything that exists with a screen does this (phones, monitors, tvs, etc).

All displays are measured from corner to corner for the size rating, it's been this way for years.
