Question about keeping a promo plan

So i have the promo $50 unlimited plan and I know you lose the promo when you activate a BYOD device but how about activating a tmobile device? or activating a 2nd hand metro pcs device? I'm just wondering because my zmax screen is becoming unresponsive lately and I'm thinking of replacing it.

You may get charged for ESN upgrade, but you shouldn't lose plan over an upgrade. I've activated my Nexus 5 on Metro network twice and haven't lost old promo I'm on.
REALLY sounds good than. But how about androids made by Asian brand companies? Just wondering because the Nexus 5 is on T-Mobile but not the off brand androids. Thank you for the fast response!!!!

That I don't know. I'd wait out a few more answers on that one.

May also depend on the promo you're on :)

Maybe its just me. Metro knows if they lose my promo I have several lines and no problem taking them elsewhere.

Call in, changing the phone (esn) is free. You keep the promo plan as long as you use a Metro phone (boots up with metro splash screen) No matter where the phone came from.

I swapped my gf's Promo plan to other Metro phones a few times, then back to the original Stylo.
They know Metro phones in their system.

^^^ That. I forgot to mention that i log into my Metro account online and use liveChat. Many times, nothing but great experiences. Going in person to a mpcs store is an ESN change fee. Just be careful with a BYOD brought to the store.
