Question about LG Motion 4G LTE

Question concerning buying an LG Motion 4G at this time.

The LG Motion 4G is selling for $99 (no rebate needed from most retailers as it is $99 out the door off the rack) now but is it still a "viable" phone considering all the changes that have and will continue to happen since tmo took over metropcs?

the site says it's LTE so will it still work after CDMA is shut down? (I know chances are good by then I'll want a new phone anyway but still the question stands)

by the way... metro sims just showed up in my area so byod is now here in my area finally. no gsm phones yet though. metro detroit has always been a big metropcs area but they are taking their sweet time bringing things here.

I personally decided not to hang on with the Motion any longer and got an F3. I'd suggest you strongly consider the F3 over the Motion, with the caveat that you should check the status and quality of the T-Mobile service in your area and wherever you may be using the phone. And, make sure the lower storage on the F3 isn't going to be a problem for you.

MetroPCS does not have any GSM phones yet here in suburban Detroit. We are waiting. We just got access to the BYOD yesterday. What is coming... eventually I guess... T-Mobile already has although they are a bit more money going that way. I have T-Mobile AND MetroPCS currently (metro $25 talk and text and pay as you go on tmo) and both work well here. Stores know nothing about when GSM phones will be in their stores here. Corp stores... resellers both say they just have not heard yet. Can't buy online... even best buy says not available here yet.

Whatever I get will be my first smartphone. I'm older so it's just been basic/feature phones for me up to now but looking to make the change soon. I can wait for metropcs to catch up this market if they don't take forever but thought maybe the motion would be a good learning phone for me. From all I read iPhones on prepaid are just too expensive for what I'll be doing with a phone and android seems to be more complicated... was really looking at something like the Nokia 521 when metro finally gets that in stock here. Again I don't need as much as most and need something easy to learn and something hackers are not looking at as much to mess with. Android seems to be the favorite target so not sure that is the way this "old guy" should go. I have enough concerns keeping out of trouble with this computer!

its not going to work after CDMA shutdown. lte is just the data protocol, has no bearing on the phone being CDMA or GSM.

Some metro phones are VoLTE capable

Voice over LTE
Exactly but the real question is how it will be implemented. If the hype is to be believed the phone will continue to function as normal because all your phone service will just flow over the LTE DATA but if your 4g lte is flaky phone service will suffer.
