Question about memory space in Legend.

IdanTs

Lurker
Where I live, the cellphone provider sells the HTC Legend with android 2.1, and I cant update it to 2.2 so easily (i need to root and stuff)

Anyway, in android 2.1 I can't install apps on my external memory, and I afraid I won't have enough space for my apps.

It says that the phone has 512MB for apps, but some people told me that some of that space is wasted by the system itself.

Anyone knows whats the amount of space I'll have for apps with the Legend 2.1 android?

Thanks.

I think internal memory for apps and settings is 185MB, but I am not 100% sure.

Apps2SD is nice, but I think often very little is actually moved to SD (like a 3.5MB application where only 1MB can be moved to SD)...

And how much sapce I'll have for apps without using Apps2SD? Is it what you said(185MB)?
I got confussed alittle.

Thanks.

You have 185mb for apps. If you move them to SD - which you can't on 2.1 - you can have more apps. Note that memory might be used for data and cache as well.

So whats the point in giving me only 185MB for apps?
every app is like 4-10mb. and some, like angry birds and mega jump are 25-35mb.
I have space only for 10-15 apps.. thats lame.

Anyway, upgrading to 2.2 is the same thing as installing Apps2SD?
I dont care using 2.1, its just tha I want more space for apps.
