Question about MSC/MTP

I'm often transferring files to and from my phone (both internal and SD). I would just leave it in MSC, except when I do large amounts of files to my SD card, it's PAINFULLY slow. The cure for that is switching to MTP mode, but then I lose my access to the phone. I'm constantly switching back and forth.

Is there anyway (with rooting or otherwise) to make the phone connect through MSC, and the card through MTP simultaneously? Any and all input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

There might be, but I find the fastest way to transfer large amounts of data is to put the card into a card reader and plug it into the computer. The 30 seconds to take the card out and put it back is a lot less than the file transfer time saved if there's a lot of data.
