Help Question about Nand Flash

Hi

I have a question about the nand flash on a Filemate Clear 16 gb tablet. Os is 4.2.2. I don't understand what Nand Flash is. But here is the problem. Under settings, under storage is the following:
Total Space 0.98gb - 482mb available, Apps 261mb. Cached data is 0.99 (because I cleared it) How can this be right on a 16gb tablet. Then under Nand Flash it says: Total space 13.12gb, apps 79.53mb, Cached data is 20.14mb.

So because of this it won't let me download any more apps and it runs very slow. Is there a remedy for this?

Thank you to anyone that can help me.

I'm unfamiliar with this specific device. Is it showing Nand Flash in the storage settings?

What that essentially means is the OS/System.
I'm using the pixel 2 xl and my OS takes up 12 gb. But yes, 13 gb on a 16 gb device will be a problem.

Does your device take an SD card? You could use an SD card and maybe move your user apps and anything else you can do that (photos, etc).

Regarding NAND flash, it's just a type of storage memory and for the most part that aspect is irrelevant in this matter. You don't need to focus on what type of storage is being used, but rather on what's stored on it. When you are evaluating what is stored on your tablet, you do need to take into account the operating system itself. But with 16GB of storage memory, if you're close to running out of free space you've obviously been using your tablet a lot.
Looking over the specs on your tablet,

it has support for up a 32GB microSD card so if you don't already have one it will help to get one. Transfer as much of your music and photos over to the card to free up space in the internal storage. This 'DiskUsage' app might help, it will give a graphical representation of what's residing on your internal storage:

As for your tablet running slow, that's not directly related to being low on storage memory. The issue is that model of tablet only has 1GB of RAM. Your tablet has two different types of memory, the storage memory and RAM (Random Access Memory). Storage is inert and static, files and data written to the storage memory are completely idle, RAM on the other hand, is what your tablet relies upon to actually do anything, it's much more active and dynamic. With a lot of RAM, the more the operating system and any apps you're using will be more able to do various things. With only a little RAM, everything you do involves pauses, hesitations, and less overall stability. 1GB of RAM simply is not enough for any Android device. (Well not enough for day-to-day usage that most of us require.) If your tablet's slowness is a real issue for you, it might be time to start thinking of upgrading to a newer tablet. Or just adjust your level of expectations to be in accordance with the limitations of your tablet, it's a hardware issue that isn't readily fixable.
