Question about nonmarket apps

Vance09

Lurker
So I've noticed recently that although apps downloaded from the market go to my phones internal memory, any .apk file downloaded from the net will be stored on my sd card. Does this hold true for all .apk files off the net, or are there some that will automatically be downloaded to the internal memory? Also, I know this is a stretch, but if an application was downloaded to the sd card does the phone also make a copy internally, i.e can I use undelete to get that app back on my phone even if I no longer posses that ad card? My phone was recently restored and my sd card died on me, so I'm just curious. Thanks for the help.

Everything pic, video, any type of file you download stores the file on the sd card. Once you install the app it installs on the internal storage unless it defaults to the sd card.
If you install an apk from the sd card and something happens to the file or the card, the app remains installed. Uninstalling the app does not restore the file.
