Question about rooting

I searched for this but couldn't find so sorry if it is already answered but when rooting my phone and installing fresh will it delete anything off of my phone?

short answer is.. no data will be removed other than sprint apps.. using the pre kitchen you can add any back or remove any that you wish..

as always.. once rooted and before adding any ROM.. do a nandroid backup
