Question about sent sms

When I send messages to a group of recipients, that message does not show up in the individual chat window. i.e. the conversation between me and ONLY one person in the group. Is there any way of having sent sms show up in both these places? I don't don't think this is phone or app specific since I use two or three sms apps and it makes no difference.

Handcent has the feature to split a Group text to individual receipients under Menu > Settings > Send message settings > Send as split threads,
