Question about Sync

I love my new Galaxy S3 so far. If you select the Sync option in the pull-down menu, how often will the phone sync itself with your accounts?

Also, right now I have GPS turned off, which means the accuweather widget won't update when you press the refresh button. Is there a better weather app that might be able to use Wifi to pinpoint your location, or will I have to turn on GPS every time I want a weather update? Google Maps seems to be able to use your location for directions without having to enable the GPS function, for example.

It really depends on the app- many have settings in the app itself to determine sync frequency, others (like many of the Google system apps) you really have little control over. The sync toggle just turns it completely on or off.

BTW, you can leave GPS on- unlike wifi or bluetooth, the GPS isn't really turned on until an app requests it, so you aren't wasting battery by having it on & are just making an extra step for yourself when you want to use an app that uses GPS for location. :)

Thanks! My concern with GPS is that I'm not sure how often the weather widget would try to update itself. If it only updates when I click the refresh button, than that would be perfect and I can leave the GPS function on.

Why not use a weather widget where you just tell it where you are? Unless you travel much obviously
