Help Question about the battery and malware

I was wondering does the samsung galaxy S3 last long the battery than the Samsung galaxy S2? How much longer does the S3 last longer than the S2 the battery?

What is the best way to avoid malware? If it get malware are there program to remove malware? What does malware do to the phone?

Don't look at porn and you won't get mal ware. I've never had any issues with mal ware and I browse the web and download things from the web.

Porn isn't the only source of malware. Pirated apps are one of the worst carriers of malware for Android. For a small amount, you can get an app, support the developer, and be sure you're getting a genuine product.

As for what it does: Malware can either hijack your phone (make it do what the malware author wants), monitor your phone's logs to steal data for identity theft purposes, cause the phone to damage itself (depends on if the malware is capable of that), or simply just track your usage. I haven't seen many cases of malware where it is more than just forcing ads onto your notification bar and tracking your internet usage.

Good advice. Closely followed by - don't install apps from untrustworthy sites either.

Well I don't watch porn I guess I am save from that, but I do download app from other site.

@jerofld just curious if the app that had the malware is removed, does the malware get removed along with it?

In most cases, yes. Android's security involves using a virtual machine (called the dalvik virtual machine). Apps run in the VM, so they can't directly interact with the OS. Granted, there is holes in every security system, but that's why Google and the manufacturer (like Samsung, HTC, etc) keeps patching these security holes.
