I have heard of the "orientation problem" with the accelerometer due to overheating when fast charging. Fortunately for me it has never been an issue. I fast charge just about every day straight from work and it is never not fast charged or caused a problem. Now whether I am lucky, or my experience is the norm I don't know. It is irrelevant, if there is a problem on some S6 edges (and s6s) with fast charging it needs correcting, either with a replacement non faulty device, or, if possible, a software update before the damage is done.
As for your "spider crack" and your bricking it with a "simple rooting procedure", both these are down to you. Not your S6 edge.
You dropped it. It broke. It is glass front and back. While a case and screen protector (when fitted) should afford some protection from drops, and the device should be stronger than Tiffany glass, depending on various variables, one or two of any device no matter how dropped will break. You have been unlucky.
Anything to do with rooting is only simple if you have read, and more importantly fully understood what you have read. Even if you fully understand what you are trying to do and it has been done a million times before without harm to a million different devices, with anything "root" you run a risk. To know and understand that are two different things.
I hope you get a new, problem free S6 edge out of your insurance claim.
