Question about the Speaker

Quick question, how is the external speaker on the Rezound? Compared to say maybe the OG Droid? I'm pretty much dead set on returning my nexus for a variety of reasons but one of my chief complaints is the very poor speaker on it (the battery life is the primary one). I used Volume+ and it still doesn't help all that much. Thanks guys!

The speaker has never given me anything to complain about.

Also, I think you will find, the battery life on this phone is a major plus. I have been surprised how good it is.

I think the speaker (external) on the original droid was quite loud. The external speaker on the Rezound is not quite as loud, but it's quite good. I work in a semi loud environment and I can hear it just fine.

I think the external speaker on the Rezound is good and an improvement from my retired Dinc. I can't offer a comparison to the Droid. I use my Rez often in a car doc with it dash mounted. I can easily hear my incoming conversations and they can hear me from a not so close proximity. I'm very pleased. ... and the battery, you will love it.

Excellent, thank you guys very much! And on a side note.. does anyone have the extended battery with their phone as well? I've realized I don't really mind a bit of weight to my phones. I've seen how it looks like a tumor on the phone but is it still ergonomic enough to hold comfortably?

Actually some folks think it makes the phone easier to hold because the protrusion fills their palm better. I have it but usually just keep the stock battery on because it still gives me a whole day. I bought the extended for business trips and long flights. However it does feel good and steady just a bit heaver and bulkier in mu pocket.

I have had the extend battery for a couple of weeks now. When I first got it I thought there is no way in the world I will ever get use to it. But now I don't ever really notice it anymore. I just love that I can go from early mourning till bed time and don't have to wonder if the battery is going to run out.

I went the other route, which when I owned the Thunderbolt I posted that I thought having a spare battery was going to be a chore, but I stuff the spare battery inside the Beats carrying case and it give me an excuse to carry around the earphones for the phone. One benefit for me having the spare battery, typically when I'm in need of the extra battery it's because I'm using the phone excessively. Having to pop out the case to swap batteries gives me an excuse to let the phone cool off (it cools off much better with the back case off, and the battery disconnected). With the external charger I'm not overheating the battery/phone by charging and using it at the same time.

I carry several extra batteries in my beats headphone carrying case - I don't mind in any way shape or form changing out batteries to keep me going whereever and whenever I am Rezounding - I acknowledge most folks are bothered by changing out batteries but I love it - gives me a chance to see the beautiful red innards of my beloved Rezound.

Limitations in lithium-ion battery technology will limit any major battery improvements for several years to come - the current length of a charge is constrained by how many lithium ions can be packed in the anode and cathode - when they get the new research straightened out - replacing the carbon based graphen sheets in the anode with silicon and increasing the lithium atoms........complaints about batteries will be forever over........a thing of the past.

In the meantime ....... I picked up a pretty cool kiwi 2000 mAh Kiwi solar powered charger yesterday and am loving it. I am sitting in the family room on a bright blue sunny Denver day watching the game, getting other game updates, texting, IM' ing, sending emails, surfing the web and listening to music while hooked up to the sun. I can play all day and never think about my battery .....as long as it is sunny. I keep the solar charger attached to my car window and am always guaranteed extra power .......

I really am not a rocket scientist but I play one on TV

Picked up the spare batteriess at the Verizon store and bought several other items so got the 30% discount ...... picked up the Kiwi charger at my Audi dealership ( just for the Audi decal ) but it is on Amazon too - I am a avid.outdoorsman skier and climber - the solar charger is a must
