Help Question about unlocked phones and updates

I have a LG G originally from At&t . I left AT&T the day my contract ended . My G2 is unlocked so I can use the phone with any GSM carrier . My question is when it comes time to get the Lollipop update , since i am no longer with AT&T will I still get the update ? Since the carriers send out the updates .
 
Your IMEI is still registered as being associated with AT&T software so you'll have to wait for them to release the update, sorry.

That's certainly how it works over here in the UK anyway.
