Root Question about updating

Newbie
I am currently running the Black Plauge ROM on Android 2.3.6 and obviously I'm rooted, and I wanted to know if I need to just unroot and look for updates to get ICS...

Or, you could wait until we get a flashable zip of the update that won't lock your bootloader. Neph said he's almost got it ready.

No, I said we had a way to unlock the boot loader. The update contains new radio files and you will want those. I went from shitty reception to full bars in many areas where i live since the update.

new radios definitely made a difference. I always had terrible reception in my house and now it works decent.

Fair enough. Thanks for correcting me.

Am I supposed to unroot, and then return to pure V6 and stock recovery?

#EDIT

OOOH Wait, Just saw that Neph said returning to pure V6 with CWM will leave me with no root or CWM, so it's all good. Thank's for your help guys :)

I restored stock V6, then restored stock recovery, then updated to ICS using the online LG tool, and then rooted again with Playful's script. Restored all my apps+ data using Titanium Backup. I thought the instructions were easy to follow and had 0 issues. The update is well worth the effort!
