Question about wifi

Hello, I was in verizon today and the guy said that in order to buy the droid, I have to have the unlimited data plan. Is this true or can I use the wifi just at my house. Also I was wondering if you can put your own videos on it, by converting them, or do you have to buy videos. Thanks

The telecoms, including Verizon, are requiring data plans on smart phones now. For the Droid, that is the $30 plan required.

You can put your own videos on it.
