Help question about wiping out a rooted phone

i want to wipe out my old incredible to give to a friend. it is rooted and running stock+ rom and kernel with some other rooted tweaks installed.

i'd like to just erase my personal data - but keep the phone rooted and running the existing rom / kernel / tweaks that are already installed.

is doing this safe or am i going to have to re-root and then reinstall rom / kernel / tweaks?
Menu > Settings > SD & Phone Storage > Factory Data Reset > Reset Phone and Internal Storage

is there a better way to simple delete my personal data / apps while leaving the rom the way it is?

Best way is to boot into recovery and select the factory reset option .... all data will be erased, except for the SD card (internal and external). If you go into the mounts and partitions section of recovery, you can format the emmc (that's the internal storage where you may have photos, music etc).

Any other tweaks or mods you've made to the phone will remain. Just all personal data will be gone, except for the sd card which you can remove or format separately through your computer.
