Question after rooting Boost S2

Newbie
Ok so this is my first time rooting a phone, I am running FL24 on a Boost S2. I ran the one click root for FL24 and now everything has been re-branded to Sprint. Boot animation, Lock screen, etc. Should this be something to be concerned about? It is cool that it looks like I have Sprint instead of Boost lol. Everything seems to be working fine, I only wanted root access to delete all the unnecessary apps that it came with and I have done that already. Thanks in advance.

That is quite possible You could have done the rooted no data install. It will change your bloatware to sprint, but the phone will work fine. Which link did you go to get the file from?

I found that my MMS was not working so I did the fix that I saw on another thread. I went to dialer and entered ##3238#, went to edit, typed in my MSL number, went to others and changed mmsc from "http://mms.sprintpcs.com" to "http://mm.myboostmobile.com". Now I can send/receive MMS with Wifi, however MMS with 3G is still not working. I also tried changing the mmsproxy to 68.28.31.1 and 68.28.31.7 neither one made a difference. Please advise...

I had MMS issues a while back even with the settings correct for MMSC settings. I did a SCRTN reset to fix it. ##72786# will make the phone re-setup its connections to the network. Be in a decent signal area when you do. It does take a few minutes to do it. Basically it does the hands free activation process again.

Yes, it will work fine. The newest ones will ask for your MSL before doing it (that started with GB08). I have done that on the leaked JB ROMs before.

I did the ##72786# my phone rebooted and nothing happened. I did a profile update to get my service back, but now 3G is not working....

It takes a while to complete and you have to be in a halfway decent signal area.

The phone should reboot do the activation process and then check for updates. The only time I have ever had issues with doing that was because of a network problem on sprint/boost's side, but I did it again and it went through.

I'll have to try it again when I am in a better signal area. I have 1 -2 bars in my area, but my calls never drop or anything.

Give it another try once it reboots you should see it tell you what it is doing in the notification bar at the top of the screen. Make sure mobile data is enabled.

I tried the ##72786# again when I had full bars and still nothing happened. So I ran the GB27 rooted nodata and everything is working again. 3G is back, MMS with wifi and 3G is working again.

Yeah I hope everything is fixed now and that I don't find another problem in a week or so lol. Thanks again for your help, I appreciate the time you took to help me.
