Help Question concerning Samsung Epic 4G

My friend is going to give me their Samsung Epic for free (Sprint network). I have US Cellular. I was curious if there was a way I could root/flash the Samsung Epic so that I could use it on US Cellulars network Could anyone help me out on this?

Also I do not want to have people coming why would they give me a free phone. Some family stuff happened and they were going to smash it. I said wait and they gave it to me. I was simply curious if this could be done, and possibly steps in doing so. Thanks

Not until US Cellular assigns your ESN to an account you pay for. Technically, the phone should work, as they are both CDMA, but you need US Cell to enable it. Call them and see what they say.

And then, Sprint is going to bill YOU for an ETF. They know who you are! LOL then if you don't pay, they're gonna send Louie over to collect. You won't be able to hold onto it with only one good hand, so he'll take it from you and smash it anyhow. JK

yeah... is your friend going to stiff sprint on contract and eft???

if so.. sprint will mark that phone as stolen. that MAY affect other carriers from supporting that particular ESN.

some carriers dont care.
