Root Question for Developers...

I am currently running with an EVO 4G.. and rooted and custom ROM... and have tried many and loved many mods over the last almost 2 yrs.

i must say.. that how well the phone is received and supported by the development community is very important to me. The EVO OG is/was very very well supported.

how will the new LTevo be dev supported??

what have you heard about Devs getting this phone?

I don't think that is a question that can be fully answered yet. BUT, as long as it is unlockable I would imagine it would get as much if not more support than your EVO 4G

I had a similar thought (though I decided to pre-order anyway) and I'd be surprised if it isn't well supported. You can already see some familiar names in some of these threads (TeamWIN, Aamikam, etc) and I read a tweet from PreludeDrew that he picked one up and is already working on it. I'd love to see what Virus can do too (there's a forum for the LTEvo at infectedroms.com but nothing there yet.)

Haven't rooted yet but when I do, I think there will be plenty to choose from!

I REALLY hope to see a Mik ROM soon. The LTEvo has been out to the public for two days and we have 4 custom ROMs not counting the stock rooted ones. I think this is a good sign for how much dev support we'll get.

I think this is the list Rxpert was alluding to.

I posted it in the Evo 4G all things root forum.

It came from XDA. I pulled the list from the thread that discussed it.

I think there will be Devs for the Evo LTE. According to XDA,

xHausx
Preludedrew
MikG
KushDeck
Myn
TommyTomatoe
Aamikan
Newt

Which Devs are coming over? - xda-developers

It looks like there will be very good Developers for that phone.

Yep, that was it. Thanks nater.

No problem.
Although I did see that Myn posted over on XDA today in two threads that he's going to go with the GS3 since it's going to be released on all 4 major carriers at once.
So that's too bad.

Another rom and another team joins in - I think that's 11 so far, and a number of tweaks, three sets of performance mods (at least), a large number of appearance and usability mods, two custom recoveries and lots more.

I think this question is answered, we're getting a lot of dev love and devs don't even have sources yet. Anyone object to the lock and want to re-open the discussion, drop me a line, my door's alway's open. :) ;)
