Hey Guys,
I Have A Spice Mi 280 Android 2.3.4 Device
Which Cannot Be Upgraded To 4.0 ICs

So I Installed Go Launcher, SMs, Contacts, Locker
To MAke my Device Look Like IcS :cool:

But The Problem Is The Default GaPPs Also KEep Running In The Background Making My Device Horribly SloW..... :mad:

Any Ideas ..... :confused:

Please Help..!

I'm currently using GoLauncher, GoSMS, GoDialer and GoContacts on 2.3.4 with no performance penalty. I've had better luck with Widget Locker than GoLocker and it also mimics ICS.

Check to see what app(s) are actually using CPU cycles.

The only way you're going to remove/disable apps from running in the background is to root and manually remove them. You may have to overclock the device to make it perform better, but be careful if you do, as it can damage your device if you overclock. Overclocking requires root, as well.

OP, you have a few more options:
1. You can disable sync for things like gmail and calendar. This should shut down some of their background functionality.
2. Check out Watchdog CPU (there's a free and pro version). It watches what consumes your CPU, and gives you the option of killing it. https://market.android.com/search?q=watchdog+cpu&feature=spelling
