Question on apps and updating

Hi,

I am planning to make some purchases from the market and would like to know whether these apps will remain accessible if the much awaited 2.2 update comes along. I've heard that it will wipe the phone clean before installation.

If you buy an app from the Market you will be able to re-download it post-2.2 upgrade.
