question on Google map navigation

The Google navigation is really sweet. However, I have not been able to show Google Navigation Map while receiving a call.

I can show Google nav text instruction while receiving call by:
- accept call
- go to home/select map/select text mode

I have not been able to show Google map while on call.

If I am navigating and call coming in, I accept it and then go to home/map. The map is blank!

I thought the Droid cache the map at the beginning of the trip and use real GPS and not need data while navigating so it can show the map while on call (because VZ CDMA does not allow data+voice at the same time).

Question: can we have the map always shown + call in the background while navigating?

I've heard this problem on another site.

So it doesn't surprise me that it exists. I dread the day that I'm navigating to destination and I get a call.

Maybe there will be a fix in the future? But to clarify, I have never experienced this, only read about it. If it exists, I would hope there's a fix for it soon!
