Question on HTC EVO

I just bought a HTC EVO Design 4g phone. My friend told me I should have gotten the HTC ONE SV like his so I can use Boost Mobile 4G LTE service.

The EVO has 4G but will I be able to use Boost LTE service or the old outdated 4G only?


Sorry, not a phone techie so not sure what he means about the LTE vs old system.

The old evo 4g uses wimax 4G. That's what sprint used before switching to LTE. With that phone u are only able to use wimax if it's available in your area.

Remember to ask which type of 4G is in your area, many places are still using wimax and many places have no sprint LTE.


LTE is the future but if it could be 2 + years before your town sees sprints LTE but wimax is there your better off keeping the evo.

I would keep it. You may have WiMax in your area but unless you are in or near a major city you will not have Sprint LTE. Ask your friend if he has 4g with his phone, i bet he doesn't.

2 years IDK maybe before then. Look at the current cities with LTE
