Please forgive what may be a very basic question, but prior to a few days ago, I'd never purchased a cell phone other than from my cellular carrier.
So, the other day, I bought an unlocked, LG G3 phone. The T-Mobile version - D851. For use on MetroPCS. It ought to be delivered on Monday.
I know that various carriers - including T-Mobile - have begun over the air updates of the G3 to Android 6 (Marshmallow).
I have not read anything about MetroPCS, specifically, doing so.
Then again, MetroPCS is part of T-Mobile.
So -
Will my phone receive an over the air upgrade to Marshmallow, shortly after logging onto my carrier's network?
If not, when might I expect this to happen?
If it's unlikely MetroPCS is going to do this ever, is there some alternative way of upgrading the phone to Marshmallow, preferably without having to root the phone or something along those lines?
Thank you.
