Question on rooting for app data

Panzan

Lurker
Hi, after many hours of desperately scouring the internet I found Ironass' guide to rooting, I managed to root my old Samsung Galaxy S 2. I did this because I wanted to find my old text history from a free text app called textplus, which I was told might be in the app data in the system files. The app only allows a history of 200 texts to be viewed in the actual app so I am trying to get the data files to see further back texts.

So after rooting I found nothing in the system files for my app which left me stumped. However I used titanium backup to back up my text app, I then checked the backup files and I found what I am sure are all of the app's data files including the text history. Though now I don't know how to access the files to be able to read them.

On my phone the files are all in a 'nested zip like file', so I transferred them to my PC and opened the zip to reveal loads of data folders. There are a whole load of different folders, and tens of thousands of 1KB sized files which I believe are the texts I sent/recieved because they are all dated and timed around when I was texting. However when I open them they are all in random characters, maybe because they are only readable with the textplus app's program, or maybe because they are encrypted (I have no idea what I am talking about)?

So can anyone help explain how I can go about viewing these files? Again, the app is Textplus and I can update with any other details needed.

I'm really desperate to be able to see my text history, it is really important to me, so I am really appreciative of any help given.

Thanks you
