Question regarding badge icon

Hi
I'm a little new to Android.
Several apps doesn't show a number (1,2,3) on the badge icon for the app. Where can I change/set this?
Please note that actually some of the apps does it, so it's a bit weird :/

E.g. snapchat - shouldn't that suppose to be showing a notification?

What device an Android version? Most versions don't have this as a built in feature at all.

Whether it is available or not usually depends on the launcher, which is the app that creates your desktops and app drawer. Then some launcher apps may not support badges for some other apps, or may have settings to select which apps have badges and which don't. So we will need more information about your phone and launcher in order to answer your question.

Ok, thanks. It's the Huawei P9 with Emui 5 and Android 7, so should be the newest
