hello all, I've just purchased a kindle fire hd 8.9. I have rooted phones and other devices before but haven't yet tried on my kindle just yet. Does firmware make a difference in rooting? I was looking to root the device just to add the google store but I don't know if it's able to be rooted. The device has firmware 8.4.1 installed on it. Can it be rooted or am I sol based on the firmware?
If it can be rooted if someone can point me out in the right direction for the best way to root it I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
