Help Question regarding Samsung Note Tablet

Hi, I'm new to Tablets. Would you know if I can write and/or draw on any application on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Tablet? Or only on certain applications? Also, if I get a Digitizer Pen, will It let me write on any app or only if I take a screen shot first?

My tablet is still new to me so someone may come up with a different answer but as I understand it you need to take a screen shot, save that to gallery and then you can use the pen to do any thing you wish
So yes you can!
