Root Question

My bootloader is unlocked and I'm rooted but I'm running the stock rom,
if the kitkat update gets pushed to my phone and I install it that way, will it mess up my phone because I'm rooted? Or will I just lose root?

You'll probably just lose root, although whenever I accept an OTA, I always temp unroot first.

You'd need a crystal ball to know the answer for sure, but previous OTA's worked on rooted devices (I didn't unroot either my N4 or N7) so it's reasonable to think that maybe this one will as well.

(Un)rooting is simple on a Nexus and previous OTA's have broken root as a side effect, so whether you need to unroot first is not important since you'll almost certainly need to re-root afterwards. This time around I'll be unrooting before taking the OTA "just in case"
