Help Questions about Blocking texts.

I wanted to know if I temporally blocked someone texts would they know that I did so?

I am using Handcent SMS and was going to use its Blacklist option.

I see add to private box option on app as I am looking at it now.

How does that option allow work?

Ideally I would like to get the texts for reading later, Think I can just turn off notifications for those texts and read later?

If this has already been discussed sorry as I did not find any threads with my particular question.

TIA!

If the person is not requesting delivery receipts they don't know whether you received the text or not. SMS never tells them whether you have read it, only whether it was delivered (Internet based message apps often do, but they are totally different in how they work).

Blocking or blacklisting does not stop delivery receipts - a couple of us tested this out earlier in the year, and confirmed that this was the case (as our understanding of how sms apps worked said it would be, since delivery receipts are generated by the network not the handset).

I just turned off the notifications of this person and I not sure if it working as not got any more texts so I assume all is good atm. Will post further if needed.
