Help Questions about flashing CM on my SGS2

Hey all I have some potentially stupid questions about installing CM7 on my phone, but I'd prefer asking them than risk bricking my phone so here goes:

This is the guide I'm using to install CM: How To Install CyanogenMod 7 On Samsung Galaxy S2

Anywho, I have installed ClockworkMod (free) and created a recovery.

I copied a stable version of CM into my root folder (update-cm-7.1.0-GalaxyS2-signed.zip)

Now with regards to installation...in the guide Step 3/Step 4 say to "Reboot into Recovery mode" so I click that and the phone resets into into "Android System Recovery"...and this is what I see:

Android system recovery <3e>

Enter: OK Key, Select: VOL UP/DOWN
reboot system now
apply update from sd card
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition

...whats up with the errors there while installing the package? Is that supposed to happen?
