Root questions about flashing new roms

Done some research....just wanted to re-verify a few things before i dive in (since my phone is working currently )

1) Im on di01 (le sad) thats rooted (woohoo!) and I'm looking to update that as well. I should be able to use odin to flash a complete DJ05 package (contains kernel, rom, system and recovery) to get me updated to that. I've heard bad things about DL09 and as a result i wanted to stick with DJ05.....is this a good choice?

2) after the DJ05 update, I plan on flashing another rom. I've heard good things about superdark but are there any others out there that would be a good choice?

basically I'm at the point where after rooting I want to clean my phone up and make it run how i (think) it should be able to.

Wow, I had to check the date of this thread to be sure it wasnt from february. ED05 is out with froyo and fixes all those problems they kept having and trying to fix through all those Dj's.
