Root Questions about root, unlocking, and cab from new spectrum owner.

My spectrum just arrived! Damn I bought it used in amazon, it looks brand new! The Spectrum feels and runs smoothly so far. I noticed that it doesn't respond to touch that well compared to my bionic, but i can live with it. Way better interface than motoblur. Better camera, CPU, and better battery life (it drain from 13%-10% in 25 minutes on 4g..its charging right now). And damn that lock screen is slick!

The touch screen responds better with jellybean ROMs.

13-10% in standby? That is horrible. I get 1%hr on my spec running CM10.1.0 v43 tweaked kernel and v6 supercharger.

No. I was playing with it and downloading apps in the play store and only drained 3%.
And I have a question. How fast dies the spectrum usually charge. And is the charging port suppose to be kinda loose? The micro USB won't go completely in the charging port.

My 3800mah battery takes a couple hours (2-3) to fully charge from <20%

The cable should not be loose. If you're getting excess play side to side and up and down, I would recommend using a different cable and finding one with a good snug fit.

Thanks. I was using my Motorola charger because the phone didn't come with a charger. I'll check with a traditional lg charger.

Here's a screenshot. The battery just drops sharply after I reboot.

Also, it takes a while to turn off the phone. It would stay at the "verizon 4g LTE" screen for like 15 seconds then shut down. Is this normal? I'm still on stock rom btw.

I honestly wouldn't know. I kept stock on until I got home, then rooted/unlocked and flashed CM10 beta2

From my understanding, when I went to swap my Spectrum to my Droid 4, the lady had told me the Spectrum has defective batteries. The Spectrum isn't best known for its battery either. I'm not sure how extended batteries are, I never did invest in one. I'd just ask around if I were you.

Yes it is. It tends to lag. This is a stock Rom thing. Other Roms such as CM10 or CM10.1 shouldn't have this problem. :)

Thanks for telling me. I thought it was just my phone/ battery acting up. I noticed that the battery gets hot ALOT. I installed a battery monitor app and the temperature of the battery went as high as 109.4

I've used moto chargers with my spec before... You'll find they're a lot slower with the device than an LG charger is.

Yeah. This phone (When I had it) would burn my hand. I mean mine hit 117 degrees once. I think it's a combo of the high pixel per inch (329) and battery and the S3 Processor (Power Hungry). As far as extended batteries, I wouldn't know where to get one. I've yet to buy one.

How many hours do you get on a single charge before you need to recharge? I lose 1% every 2-4 minutes when using. I lost 4-5% in 6 hours when sleeping (4g on). I'm still on stock ROM. I'm going to try quattrimus ROM when I have time because I heard it has good battery life.

On my extended using Quattrimus CM10, I dropped 25% using the phone consistently for 2 1/2hrs

I saw your post on a different thread say that it takes a while to calibrate the new extended battery. How many charge cycles did it take you to get your phone used to the new battery? And do you have to recalibrate the battery every time you install a new rom?

It is still calibrating. I had the battery for about two months now. (Edit: on some occasions, at certain percentages it still will stay there longer than it should)

Battery calibration I think is on a separate partition so it doesn't get touched when flashing a ROM. Someone who has messed with the other 20 some odd partitions could maybe shed some light on that?

Some people say that wiping battery stats in recovery when flashing a new rom leads to better battery life...not sure if I believe that but just throwing that out there.

Is there a jelly bean Rom with the latest LG Home launcher (like the one on the LG Optimus G) with the new LG features like Q-slide? It would be cool if it was ported to our Spectrum.
