Questions about switching to Droid X...

I'm eligible for New Every Two on 8 Aug and will probably get a Droid X to replace my Droid. How can I get all my apps, contacts, messages, etc from the Droid to the X? I have "My Backup Pro" and back up to the Droid's SD card. Can i just copy the SD card to my PC then back to the new SD card and restore to the X?

I hope I can get over the low volume issue as my hearing is shot (the Droid volume is fine).
