Root Questions about the latest leak.

Hey guys, I was just wondering. From the info I was reading, this leak is rooted correct? If so, should I remove droid overclock and z4root from the phone?

Also, How do I know if I have THE latest leak? I just put on the 4.5.588 but they were files I downloaded days ago and now I'm seeing people saying even this leak has been updated to fix some issues. If this is so can someone post a linky to the latest files?

I am also having the same issue with the hard buttons I was having with the last leak. They work for a short time then decide they don't want to light up anymore. I have to restart the phone and they work again for a short time.

Yes, GB is rooted if you installed with the three file method put out by P3Droid. The only thing that has changed is that he has added deodex to the files in order to be able to add themes. Some people on here have had problems with deodexing and have to sbf back and start over. I'd stick with the files that you got days ago.

As for removing droid overclock? No, keep that if you want to overclock your phone. Since you are rooted, you can use Droid Overclock. Z4root? You can get rid of that unless you decide to go back to Froyo (or have to sbf back there).

I'm not sure about the keys.

A workaround for the keys; I have the same problem. If you go into Settings>Display>Brightness and toggle the auto brightness once or twice, it usually fixes the keys until you would restart the phone. Also, toggle your Screen Timeout settings as well. Change it from 1 min, to 2 min, and back to 1 min. This fixes the problem (until you restart the phone).

O'k, thanks guy. I don't plan on theming the phone so the deodexed version isn't necessary for me. I actually like the way the stock GB looks with all the blues in it. I'll give that a try Pac and see what happens with the hard keys. I was told if I do a factory resset it would take care of that problem but I really don't feel like adding all my stuff again....lol
