Root Questions about unrooting

I bought my phone from someone that already rooted it. I have the "s=off" thing. I am trying to unroot myself and I found a page that explains it to me. It says something about a "GFRee Procedure", how do I know if my phone was rooted using that?

Also, when I do unroot, will all the stock apps I removed still be removed? Since I have S=OFF right now, it will go to S=ON, correct? If so, I will be able to recieve OTA updates?

P.S. Here is the link I am refering to.. http://theunlockr.com/2010/12/16/how-to-unroot-the-t-mobile-mytouch-4g/

if you do the second procedure you linked to, the non gfree one, everything is back to normal, s=on, all the apps you deleted are back, everything is as though it was never rooted. I just did this a couple days ago. you could go back and temproot to get rid of your "bloatware" again.

I just kept the zip file so i can always unroot if i get into any trouble, or just want to go back to stock for warranty stuff.

I unrooted and I got "GLACIER PVT SHIP S-ON"

Does this mean I can get OTA updates when they come now?

First of all why would you want to unroot it? Also why do you want to go back to stock rom and wait for OTA? Now if you want Gingerbread on MT4G then we already have AOSP 2.3.2 available for us unofficially which will be better than official when it does come out months if not next year. If you want stock like rom why not look in to Ice Glacier v1.1.6? Even if teamsilence departed from the project it is the most superior stable rom available in MT4G scene ATM.

Far as this subject goes you can unroot it via few meth as the one you posted along with flashing the stock PD15IMG.zip thus reverting back to the stock rom/radio and giving you s-on. I still say you seriously look in to IGv1.1.6 as for 2.2 goes that is superior than stock.

Agnes, OTA is the Over The Air update. When the manufacturer/carrier update there software, you get a notification that you can do an OTA update. You can't do it if you are not running stock.

Yeah,
I googled it after I wrote the post. I felt a big DUH moment. [This is what happens when you are working 11 hour days with no breaks, for several weeks.]
