Root Questions about Warranty Policy. Help!

My girlfriend has an Optimus Slider, wants to root it and install a rom and stuff, but pays for phone insurance so if she loses it, she only needs to pay 65$ for a replacement. Now if she cracks the screen and wants it repaired, sends it in with a custom rom and rooted, I know the warranty is gone after being rooted and whatnot, but if she can restore it to stock rom, stock kernel and recovery, and w/e else and then unroots (Plz provide a program that's successful with that?) Would she be able to return the phone then and have her warranty back? She wont let me root or do anything to it without a failsafe to be able to return the phone back to a previous returnable state. Would it make sense/would it work to backup stock recovery (What process would I go about to do that?) Install custom recovery, backup rooted stock rom, and upon needing to return to complete stock, restore that stock nandroid backup, and then install stock recovery from the backup, and use the unroot program, would it have it's warranty back? Or be repairable under VM's 5$ insurance plan? Sorry for the long post, just trying to make it as clear as possible. :]

She should have paid the $7 for the best-buy warranty. You can run it over with your car and bring them in the pieces and they'll pick up a new phone off eh shelf, activate it, and send you out the door. If you happen to drop it in the sewer on the way to your car, you can just take it back inside, and they'll swap you out again. Best-Buy's insurance policy blows the pants off whatever the carriers offer.

No matter who the insurance is through, if the phone is broken enough that it doesnt turn on, they won't know if its rooted or not. So when you do break it, make sure you do a good job of it.

Well I mean if it's just a simple screen crack and wants the screen to be replaced, then they will know. I just wanna know if i'd be able to restore it to stock enough that they wont be able to know if it used to be rooted.

I know she should have but it was bought online through VM's site and fedexed to her door. And the reason why i'm asking all this is because she'd have to pay 65$ for a full new phone versus just replacing the screen where that would be cheaper.

You'd be better off asking this in the slider forum. I poked around there for a few minutes and didn't see anything but I'm sure they have a method to return to stock.

How much did she pay for this insurance? A $65 deductible seems extremely steep for a replacement slider.
