If this is a re-hash I'm sorry. My search fu might be off today

I have a note 3 currently and I'm contemplating moving to a moto x pure

So few questions.

1) what is the current android version and did it get updates fairly quickly (within a few months)
2) is the moto software obtursive. I used to have moto phones - the razr maxx and the droid X both of which were awesome so I know there is some overlay and I'm OK with that.

3)any severe issues with quality?

1) I'm on 6.0 (stock, Verizon)
2) There's hardly any, it's pretty much vanilla Android. What is there is actually useful, I don't consider it bloat at all.
3) I've had no issues, nor has my sister.

It's really a nice phone. The only thing I'd like better on it would be an AMOLED display, but the display is great, I just have a thing for AMOLED.

I like my Moto X Pure... but I'm chomping at the bit to replace it with the Note7.
why? samsung software implementation sucks. I looked at your device list too. I mean I like the note hardware wise mostly but I find it odd that at year 2 it started dropping LTE all the time. The audio bit was ok - but you still have all the samsung stuff that won't go away.

The stylus is nice - it's why I bought the note line -but I don't really use it that much. It's not that useful in other apps

but mostly I have issues with their software. Take the note hardware and have plain android on it and it would be much better.

Course I do have to admit I like the specs on the Note 7 - I'm just leary of the samsung software screwups.
