Questions for current sprint LTE customers

So I just noticed that sprint is going to be bring 4G LTE to my city according to them- "in the coming months".

I am really thinking about going back to sprint, but I have some concerns...

I currently have a grandfathered verizon account with unlimited data, but vzw nickel and dimes you for every little thing, and there is a rumor that verizon will be forcing those on unlimited to new plans (even if you don't upgrade your phone)

But I hate to go back to sprint for poor service, so my questions are

1. How long did the LTE rollout for your town take?
2. How is the signal?, Good inside of house/buildings?
3. What are the peak speeds you get?, I ask because I get around 15mbs down with VZW.

I might have some more questions but thats it for now.

Thank you!

Honestly, I would wait until middle of next year before considering switching back. Even in the cities where LTE has been announced as live (all six of 'em, lol) coverage is spotty. When it does connect, I've seen people posting speeds of 20-25, so the promise is there. The reality just has to catch up.

Awesome, thank you for the info. Currently my town has wimax coverage, but it is EXTREMELY spotty. I was worried that their LTE coverage would be the same. I had sprint for years, unfortunetly when I moved here sprint was the bottom carrier here. (at&t is tops, then vzw, tmobile, sprint)

My call/data connections were always good other places I lived, but here about 90% of my calls were dropping and my data connection (3g) was around .07kbs down. So I had to switch.

So if anything then I will wait until next spring/early summer and see how things go here.

Thank you for the response.

1. It's still taking place and is rumored to be done by the end of this year 2013.

2. Signal is great for me both inside and outside. In my apartment it's good and if I go down the road to the store it's still strong.

3. The fastest speed I've gotten out here so far is 18.56. I average around 12mbs.

I, like you, had Verizon. The relationship only lasted 2 months because of ridiculous customer service. Maybe they had fast 4G but I was on a share plan with only 2gb of data. They refused to fix my fiancé's broken phone and my S3. We sold our phones to Sprint through their buy back program and haven't looked back. Together we average well over 10gb of data a month. Verizon in my opinion is really out for the $$$ instead of looking out for their loyal grandfathered customers. If I were you, I'd head over to Sprint. My fiancé and I love our S3s :)

Just so you know, those outlier speeds you see of people posting 20+ on Sprint won't last very long. I anticipate that speeds will bottom out a bit, which would leave customers averaging around 8-10, which is definitely still adequate for ANY kind of data usage.
