Questions on audio playback / formats, etc

Hey dudes!

I recently got hold of a 16GB SD card for my DHD, so want to start using it as a Personal Music/Media Player (PMP).

I've got a few questions that I hope you good folks could assist with:

1. Does the DHD support any lossless formats, such as FLAC, OGG, Apple, etc?
2. Is there a media player that has an option to *not* lock or fade the screen? ie: when on charge.

The reason for [2] is that I want to use it in the car, and am fed up of having to faff about to unlock the handset to change tracks, etc.

Anyone got any other hints/tips/best practices for using the DHD in this way?

Many thanks in advance

Uri

Uri - can't help with number 1, but for number 2 - it is possible to set your phone to always awake when charging (that is if you mean that your phone is connected via USB when connected to your car)?

I've had a look at several alternative music players because I wanted one that could do gapless playback. In the end I settled on PowerAMP and think it might be worth you checking it out too - it's not free, but you get a 2 week trial period. Their website says "plays mp3, mp4/m4a (including alac), ogg, wma*, flac, wav, ape, wv, tta (* wma pro files may require NEON support)".

Their "Lock Screen" feature won't, I suspect, do what you want because, when I tried it out, it seemed to have no effect - presumably the Sense front-end gets in the way. But if you combine all the advice given on this page, maybe you can get everything you want!
