Root Questions on rooting (WPA Enterprise)

Ironic

Lurker
I want to access a WPA Enterprise wireless network, and it seems the only way to do that is by rooting.

I have read the guides and other posts on rooting, but i still have a few questions:

Does it void the warranty?

If i make any changes(update firmware by example) and do a factory reset will the phone be exactly as when i buyed it?

Can i make a backup of current status to able to restore the phone if i need to?

Can it go wrong to the point of not beeing able to turn on the phone?

Tks for your help

It was my understanding that the Hero does support Enterprise? Maybe wrong though.

What problem connecting are you having?

It certainly supports certificates, but cant test it fully till I go back to Uni.

EDIT: WPA Enterprise is available in the list of security options in Add Wi-Fi networks.

I have the same problem.

My university uses Enterprise and I'm annoyed that after getting a new phone I can access the wireless anymore :(

Any other solutions besides from rooting it? It sounds quite scary...
