Questions regarding Windows 8

Ok, I know it appears as if I should be posting this on Windows forums. But I need some Help regarding A Chinese Android tablet. I am wondering if I can install Windows 8 on it? And will it be possible via USB? I'm in no way a noob but I am a little lost as far as Tablet OS's. I believe it is Android 2.3 and it is rooted.

Huntereich, first of all, welcome to the forums! It's great to have you aboard! :)

Wow, that is a bit of a trick: you see, the hardware requirements for Windows 8 are different than those for Android. Generally, the chipsets are designed for a specific OS. Versions within that OS can be updated or changed... but I don't think the TYPE of OS can. Don't quote me on that, someone smarter than me will have to confirm it. But based on what I've learned over the years, my gut instinct is to answer no, I don't believe Win8 can be installed on an Android tablet.

Hopefully you can get confirmation of that here :o

Since they released Windows RT, which supports ARM processors (as you'd find in most android devices), there are probably some people who will try it.

However, even if it is achieved (and that's a really big if), it will most likely only be on a select few devices with large developer communities.

The code base for Windows 8 ARM ties to a locked bootloader in what Microsoft calls a security feature, and they cross check to ensure that it's installed on a Windows-certified device. Tampering with any of that renders mobile Windows 8 inoperable.

And so far as I know, they'll never be releasing source codes to allow any of that tampering in the first place.

My best guess therefore is no, sorry.
