messages in general......yes

they are stored as data on your phone. if you were to wipe data, they will get deleted permanently.

So you suggest something like secure eraser?
Again, if I delete a message in TextNow it will not be recoverable from my device?

secure erase? not sure what that is......probably not necessary.

there are pc programs that might be able to recover them, but other then that, you can't recover them by just using the phone.

Deleted messages MIGHT be recoverable using forensic analysis software, but only if the memory where they were stored was not overwritten by something else.
