Quick memo files lost/deleted

I accidentally deleted important quickmemo files during a factory reset without backing them up, is there anyway to retrieve the files?

Not after a factory reset, nothing can be recovered. It would be a security problem if data could be recovered from a device that had been factory reset and passed onto another party. Basically the internal storage is AES256 encrypted, and when it's reset the encryption key is deleted.

Does this "quickmemo" app not have any cloud backup or syncing, like OneNote or Evernote does?

It does have syncing and backup options, I just totally spaced it before I reset. Ive read alot about rooting your phone in order to access old encrypted data, but Im not sure if its worth it

I was wondering if android support is able to retrieve files like this for you, but havent been able to find anything about it

not if the data has been erased. there is not much you can do even if the phone was rooted. a rooted phone should have a custom recovery which can then make nandroid backups which backs up all data. but your phone would have to be rooted first and have a nandroid backup made.

any service you see on the net claiming to recover data, is a complete waste of money......sorry

If there was any truth to it, it would be totally worth it. But there's not.

Because there are no magicians working for Google! It would take magic to retrieve something that no longer exists.

The whole idea behind factory reset is to put the device into 'like new' condition, with no personal files on it, only the operating system and anything the manufacturer and/or carrier deemed worthy.

Think about it: if you could actually retrieve files deleted by factory reset, then anyone who buys a used phone--or steals a phone--would have access to the previous/rightful owner's personal files. Nope.

Don't fall prey to any of the bullshit you may see about getting your files back--unless their name is Houdini. :o

Thanks for the advice guys, that brings me to my next question. I have a backup from sept 26 that might have the files on it, but when I try to restore my phone it only allows a backup from oct 3. I cant seem to access the sept 26 backup and it says it expires in 25 days, how do I restore the older backup?
