Just wondering if anybody can help me with a problem that I've had with my gs2 since day one. I've never been able to open the "free credits" type links in games, it always comes up with web page unavailable no matter what browser or game it originates from. Would be nice to hear of any solutions as they can really help you get ahead in some games just for installing another. Any help will be much appreciated.

Tldr; Can't get "free in game credits" links to work from any app.

Just throwing it out there, some guys don't notice it sometimes, or newbies. Can you say what games specifically? So some of us can try? It may be the sites themselves.
 
It's honestly every game, from Gun Bros to Death Rally and Urban Rivals.
I always get the same message, Screenshot attached.

^ That's from Death Rally but they all come up "unavailable" like that.
 
Are you using a mobile network or a wifi network? Because if you are using a wifi network,it may be that its blocking certain sites?

I've tried both, no luck.

I also have "Lookout", LBE Security and AdFree running but tried turning them all off and no luck their either. I'm very surprised I havent managed to find anybody else with the same problem online anywhere...
 
Do you have any sort of adblock? Either built into the browser or from rooting + installing Adfree? I know most of them are either hosted on or are actually ad pages.

Edit...apparently we posted at the same time.

You can't just 'turn off' adfree. You have to delete the hosts file. Get a root explorer app (ES File Explorer is one then go to settings and check Root Explorer and Mount system). Then go to /system/etc and delete the 'hosts' file. Reboot your phone and try again.

Further edit: I guess I'm kinda wrong. There is a revert option in Adfree. That overwrites the hosts file with just a 1 entry file for the localhost. But you should still reboot to make sure it takes effect.

Phone is rooted but I dont believe there to be an inbuild adblock, I have tried closing all running apps including the previously mentioned 3 programs.
Which ones do you use? And do they allow you to still access these pages?
 
Go into adfree and click the button "revert" that will unblock ads so you can get free credits for games, then when you are done go back into adfree and click "download and update hosts". I've had to do it for the those games

Haha, Much appreciated it had been really bothering me... I thought uninstalling it would have removed it's effects but it makes sense now.
