Quick Summary of Three Different Sim Options

So I have been using my Nexus 4 for 3 weeks now and have been bouncing back and forth between the following SIMs... T-Mobile Wal-Mart $30 plan, Straight Talk AT&T, and Solavei T-Mobile.

Hopefully this information will help others who are trying to decide. I live in Northern VA and have traveled to New York with the SIMs. Overall T-Mobile

noob-ish question (been a Looooooong time since I've been GSM)... does HSPA42+ work on solavei?

Yes! And in many areas its faster than Verizon. I just test 16MB down and 3 up from the Rest Room at my office. In comparison VZ cannot even get signal in the Rest Room. :D I was actually worried about giving up the speed of VZ so I kept my Galaxy Nexus for the first 2 weeks along side of my Nexus 4. No regrets! None at all.

On AT&T I have dropped a few calls on T-Mobile I have yet to drop one. I have also noticed (not sure why) that the Straight Talk AT&T SIMs drains my battery very fast! (cannot make a full day) On T-Mobile my battery ROCKS! 16 hours of heavy usage and on standby it last days.

The reason for the AT&T one draining your battery, my theory would be because loss of signal will make the phone search for one, and kill your battery quick. Happens to me all the time on my triumph with virginmobile with signal i'll get more then a day with small usage, then when at school or where signal sucks the battery drops super quick. :-\

That is a good theory and very true if you have weak signal it will definitely drain your battery quicker. Unfortunately this was not the case my phone had 3 to 4 bars both times I tested the battery life and the AT&T network definitely drains it fast. Tonight I came home from work after a 12 hour shift with 50 percent battery left. Yesterday my phone with an exact same location using the AT&T straight talk sim and my phone died driving home. Sadly I actually used my phone more today.

glad i'm going with tmobile anyway :) can't beat that 30$ plan since i only use like 80 min a month plus i will be using google talk/magic jack for minutes so not worried at all for my minutes magic jack will be free for me since i use them for home phone service they give you a free number :) but it is kinda a battery drainer gota test out a google voice alternative.

Just checked out coverage with Solavei at home. Its stated as "Good". My job it states it as "Excellent".

Can you speak to real life what this would mean for me, based upon your coverage area(s)?

Thanks in advance.

No I meant if you put in your address on their website for coverage, what are you listed as?

Also I put in my IMEI number on their website and it states my phone is not compatible. Assume there is a way around that since you have an N4?

When I get home I will plug in my address and let you know. LG has not released the numbers yet so it will show up as on available yes there's an easy work around. I can give you all the information it's very easy.

Only place I have issues is in my basement. First level, Second level, and outdoor is rock solid. Basement is spotty. So is Verizon if this helps.

What kind of speeds do you get with good? How is call quality? Any drops?

As long as I'm not in my basement I get zero dropped calls. Call quality is great. Can range from 8 to 15 MB down and 1 to 5 MB up.

Wow really? Even though your home is labeled as good? Impressive.

If I go outside I'm pretty much maxed out with bars... My download speed actually beat my Galaxy Nexus on Verizon 2 out of 3 times.
